HIC... Slippage?

So I have worked my bar slipping issue down to this:

The top caps for my HIC (3 tried) are all wide enough to let the bars over but are getting caught on the insides of the bars, when the clamp tightens I can unscrew my whole HIC just by turning my damn bars, when I ride all they do is slide from left to right depending on which direction the force is. Now this is not only VERY FUCKING ANNOYING but is just baffling, now I have a file that I can use to thin down the cap's edges so they wont basically become starnuts inside my bars anymore, but i feel that other options to end this annoyance are out there, has anyone delt with something like this at all? Or did I just get lemon bars/parts as I always seem to do...

I can take a video and put it up on request if it will help someone out in fixing this shit

It just wears down over time, they're all pretty much like that. Keep in mind they were designed to go over the top of a stem, not be inside of bars. Although the Aheadset plastic cap I got with my TSI bars didn't stick, I fucking loved that thing.

But, and hear me out on this, what does it matter if it unscrews your HIC, they're gonna be clamped to your fork and aren't going to be able to spin.

My aheadset plastic thing is the same way

And what do you mean exactly?

My clamp was fully tightened right there... I'm very confused right now

I thought my VertX clamp was fully tightened when I first put it on. Turns out it wasn't even halfway tight. If you bars turn, your clamp isn't tight enough, end of story.

Same thing happens the more I tighten it, Maybe ill lube it up a tad tomorrow to see if I can get it more but right now (after vid) I put back on my wheels and tightened the clamp 2x that amount and this is STILL fucking going on

God damn, I never thought I would be the one desperately posting about some issue haha

What kind of clamp do you have?

Clamps shouldn't make that noise when you tighten it. Grease the crap out of your bolts on the clamp and crank down on it, don't be scared of breaking it. According to lucky, cane creek top caps are "too big". If that's true, maybe that's what's stopping the bars from clamping to the shim properly.

I have the "AHEADSET" Thing on there right now, same issue though

And I'll do that tomorrow, any recommended lube? I have every type imaginable laying around haha

that's probably why, cause you ordered from kota..

-.- Don't make me relive that whole fiasco... That literally was a hassle because I thought I had been robbed lol

And my friend bought two wheels the same day, they are yet to arrive

Oh, maybe it's just a shitty shim. It IS Kota. But still...tight clamp = bars no move. It's your clamp, especially if you have the same problem with 3 different caps.
