This guy at a skatepark around here argued wiht me about this.
They say the metal decks will damage the ramps:
1. If bikes are in therem point it out that theyre completely metal.
2. If bikes arent in there, ask about skateboards. They have metal trucks. The only time our metal decks touch the ramps are when we grind or stall. METAL skateboard trucks touch the ramps just as much as our "destructive" decks would.

Urethane is the surface that we actually ride on.

The rims are metal, but the rims never touch the ground or are used in grinds (which are the "destructive" tricks they are most likely banning scooters for).

Most scooter decks do less damage than skate trucks to ledges and rails.

Insurance is not an issue, if they bring it up at all ask where does the policy specifically exclude scooters from coverage against a lawsuit.

Make the (valid) point that, if you cannot ride the park you will ride the streets, which will only lead to police and citizens harassing you and asking for you to ride in a skatepark. But as you are not/would not be allowed to ride in the park you have only one place to ride, which is the cause of the scrutiny.

Insurance covers the rider, not what theyre riding.
Bring that up if they give you shit about insurance. Threaten a family or 2, theyll get the point eventually.

scooters dont tear up nothing they can cry about it, if they worry about it so much they should have made it concrete!

If a little scooter damages a skatepark, it wasn't made right. This is the point I've been shoving down my council's greedy throats since I started riding. The only option is to be a complete douchebag in the streets and people will be pissed and call the council.

What causes damage to wood skateparks are metal pegs on bikes. Tell them that a rim in no way contacts any surface of the skatepark and that you do not use pegs like bikers do. Also, the metal truck argument could work well.

Also, no metal part of the scooter ever contacts wood, meaning damage is very unlikely to be caused due to the fact that the only part contacting wood are the wheels which are soft urethane.

And i dont see the problem with just walking in there and riding, unless theres maximum security guards and barbed wire fences around it
