bendable:

Metal: Yes
Plastic: No

Snappable:

Metal: yes
Plastic: yes

+ Plastic would slide better. Yes? Plastic wins imo

rottweiler has 2 sockets he uses as pegs. id say find some crafstmen ones so if they break, you go to sears and get new ones free no matter.

plastic strength vs. metal strength is unbelievable in this thread.. holy shit.

Why not just make a socket peg? it's only ounces heavier and.. much stronger..
most pegs don't bend, they shatter (plastic) or the bolt bends.

Nylon.
Strongest plastic, my dad is a plastic welder.
It's also important to make it thick, you would have to find a place that does cnc.

there is a plastic known as delrin, in many cases as strong as steel, and it can be machined in the same way. This is the plastic composite that is used on the edges of crotch rocket cages that have frame sliders, so that when you dump your motorcycle the idea is that the delrin slides and absorbs the impact instead of your 10k motorcycle. Anyway, I made a set of plastic pegs from this material and had great success, just my two cents. And as a note to Zane, you would not need to find a company that does cnc (computer numerical controlled), but actually just a manual lathe would all that would be needed. CNC'd parts become much more expensive.
