for those of you who actually do it...

How in the hell do you keep yourself like on topic? I swear to god I have ADD, especially with things I have to type. If there is a chance to be on like myspace, AIM, SR... I like can't resist haha. This was not a problem last semester for my video editing class... I used to edit videos for hours because that, for me, was interesting enough.
Right now I am trying to get an essay typed up, and I have to use like the internet to research it a little, and that means opening firefox where SR is my homepage... myspace is a link right at the top, and AIM has an away message up at the bottom.. haha. I seriously cannot just like do it straight off, I will work in little like 3 minute chunks for like hours and it sucksss. I do not see how anyone can just get it all done right off. I am also listening to mellow music, which usually helps a little because if I listen to other music I'll get distracted.
There is also my cell phone, if it is on vibrate I will get probably a text every half hour or something, and even then I will like HAVE to reply and say that I'm doing homework and ill talk to them later or something haha. If i put it on silent then i will obsessively compulsively check it like every 5 minutes or sooner, again throwing me off topic to whatever I was trying to do homework-wise before.
So basically, how in the hell do you all get your homework done? Seems like I need to buy a computer with blocking software (and at school instead of working all I do is try to get around the blocking software... its like a game...) so i cant get on myspace or SR or anything... need to lock my phone in a vault, need to have just a plain room with white walls as not to get distracted ever? ugh.
So another basically... how can you make something you don't find interesting at all, seem interesting? Or at least interesting enough to complete whatever assignment it is without getting distracted like 100 million times. Pretty much this entire post shows how completely un-interested I am in doing homework... its like 12:30am and I can't stay focused on shit. It sucks.
