How did you learn. squentially speaking

Ok i dont know but i think im screwed up when it comes to tricks
2 and a half months ago i could double tailwhip, transfer a few hips, and deck grab. This 13 year old kid called "Mad Dog" shows up killin on a 18" bike with 720s backflips and what not. Anyway he asks to see my scooter and can barely tailwhip and then outta freakin nowhere pulls a backflip, which makes me wanna try it so i did.

So basically i learned to backflip before i could 360 and today i just learned a barspin to back wheel stall in my basement

How did you guys learn your first few tricks?

well coedie taught me tailwhip on flat and then from here learned all the basics then quit for two years then 2 years later this kid who thinks his all good at everything comes to my house with his scooter i had a go showed him wot i could do started again then all my new tricks i learnt in the past couple weeks came from people my level scootering doing tricks i cant do

probably

for my first 6 months of riding:

i rode alone

had never seen a scooter vid

knew nothing about 'the scene' and thought i was the best in the world

learnt tailwhips all by myself :) like 9 months ago

then learnt nothing at all other than whips really till like 6 months ago lol

Uhh.

Ive wasted the first year of riding, all we did with my brother was going to a skatepark like once a month, or three weeks, doing practically nothing but bunnyhops ON a funbox all the time. I could probably do tailwhips after a short time, Ive never got around to try it until like september. The bad thing was that, during that time I WAS on SR, posting and watching videos, but it all was like 'they are from USA. they are pros', etc, so that made me unable to even try any tricks. Another thing was me riding a shitty scooter, and completely not knowing how to take care of it.
I started progresing a bit faster the next year, but still not any close to how fast some other people do now. I don't know if it's good or not to blame my lack of progression on the shitty conditions for a scooter rider in Poland, but the fact is, do you know ANY decent polish skater or a biker? (the rollerbladers are pretty good though).

took me a few months to land tailwhips, during that time i rode alone, then at 1 year i learned double whips and 360s off kickers, fingerwhips and barspins at like a year and a half, triples and 360 whips at 2 years, backflips, 720s, quads, triple fingers, 360 double whips, trucks, scooterflips and briflips all around my 3rd year, levon started riding around that time and thats when i started really progressing, got quints, frontflips, flairs, 360 triples/quads, quad fingerwhips, bar to triple, double whip bar and 360 whip bar, lots of 360 downsidewhips, and things over boxes and pyramids, along with 540 airs :)

i think thats about it

I landed my first tailwhip last summer (june maybe). I had already been riding for about a year (but without doing tricks except maybe bunnyhops). I haven't seen any foreign videos, I thought I was the best so I was progressing very slow. In autumn I discovered micro xtreme team videos.... At that moment I was only able to land 360 over 3 stairs, decade off a drop and tailwhip over 3, 180 over 2, some grind combos and downside whip on bank (mini1). I realized that I had to learn and practise a lot, but long russian winter was a serious obstacle (no place to ride in winter). This spring I improved consistansy of most of my tricks, learned how to catch the deck (while doing tailwhip and decade) and landed some new tricks like fingerwhip and barspin. You can see some results of my summer riding in my minvids 4 and 5.

Riding in Russia is fucking unbearable. No scooters, no riders, no parks..... I even invented the "truck scooter" while having no scooters, that was a lot of fun (minivid 3). I learn tricks very slow comparing to riders who have flyboxes and foampits and who are not affraid of breaking their scooters. But nevertheless I have a strong desire to ride and I believe that in the nearest future I will be able to push the sport in my conservative country. I Will Be Heard..............................

I <3 Timur...

Well I've had scooters since they came out almost, but I was a little kid and couldn't even tailwhip, but that was partly because I was a little kid and the scoot I had was very heavy. I got interested about a year ago, but didn't really know the scene. I found a few videos but they were like snobby rich kids who thought they were cool. Then I got a razor, and I still wasn't really serious. Then I found SR, and finally found out about everything and I fell in love with the sport. I finally tailwhipped about 2 months after that, and I think I learned 360s like a week before whips.

Admittedly, I'm still not very good, though I've never been to a park or even ridden a decent ramp, so I've been progression very slowly. When I see all you kids with your TICs and your Skatebarns and whatnot, it only fires me up to go out and learn a trick off a curb or on flat. Its been a lot of fun though, and I can't see a day where I quit.

If you tell me that most pavements you have there are unridable for a kid riding a scooter (I don't mean a rider like me or you, it's still not a pleasure to ride them though) because of holes/cracks/poor quality etc, I will give you mad props because that will mean that scooter conditions in Russia are truly worse in Poland.

hahaha I remember those good ol days... bad I mean.

I don't really have anyone to ride with most of the time, and the other guy who lives in toronto is always busy when I go ride, and visa versa. That's why I'm progressing so fucking slow it's not even cool..
