this morning i was painting stuff and i realized if you spray clear coat really close it takes off the other coats of paint

i had the same problem taking paint off my sr fork...get a 2 liter soda bottle, put the fork in the bottom, and fill it with enamel remover just to the top of the top plate...let it soak for 1-2 days and you are pretty much set...you may still have to sand some of it off, but it will be minor sanding. i guarentee it works wonders and it works every time
