how do u put a crown race on a fork?

i did that and i got it on but it was crooked. so i took a chisel and a hammer and the part that wasnt on all the way and it fit on perfect.

Just slide it on.

it only slides on when its the wrong size
a crown race needs to be hammered on tight
so if it slides on it wrong
