how do u put a crown race on a fork?

yes you need one!!! it will fuck up the whole fork where you press the crown race on

or if you dont use a pipe you can just find a vice and put it between 2 blocks of woods or a skateboard or pretty much anything, slide it on put a screw driver on a lip and smash the screw driver with anything and keep going all around the lip till the whole circle is on

deff need one a friend of mine didnt use one and the lip spacer thing got so f*cked it was almost unrideable. use a hammer and a flat head or do wat mark said for sure works
