How do you usually respond to "haters"?

Pretty sure I'm not the only one who gets strange looks when riding a scooter. I'm not sure why a lot of people (especially skaters) feel the need to call out scootering as gay and lame, they can just keep it to themselves. I don't know, I guess it is a LITTLE weird to see a 17 year old girl on a scooter. To each their own, though. I'm still learning to ignore the peanut gallery. Do you guys fight back or ignore them?

if its a skater call em a wood pusher. and if its a guy just call them gay. i theyre with a group of friends any guy will feel like a total dumbass being called gay but that only works since your a girl. or just do like a big trick

I used to skate and bmx, the riders and skaters at my local hit me up to ride. I've never really dealt with them much, primarily because it isn't about what you ride, its about how you behave.

I don't really get a lot of hate, mostly because I know everybody at my local. Anyone that hates on me there usually receives a shitstorm from all the other locals, or we all just laugh at them. If I'm at a different park, I usually go with a group of skaters, so I guess that kind of makes me exempt or something.

The main thing I've learned is that the only people that will go out of their way to say something are usually complete tools who suck at skating and land like 1-2 tricks the entire time they're there. Ask Rob about the dude he showed up so bad that it made him leave. Good times LOL.

If the hate comes from the public i either just ignore it. And accept it as being intrigued.

If it comes from skaters or BMX'ers I have a little system and it works well to be honest.

Skaters for example when riding my local indoor will tend go there around 6 in the evening the same as me as they are finishing work around this time. SO there will only be a few 'scooter kids' still there, getting in the way. So they bitch and complain a lot about them. And when the scooter kids leave. There is still me and a few other scooter riders there. And that hate/bitching is transferred over to us. So I just take a few minutes to see where and how (what tricks/style the skate) and kind of ride with the 'skater type' trick in mind. So they don't hate as much. And just don't get in there way and they won't get in mine. But this is only with guys I don't know, but half the time I ride with skaters anyways.

It's the same principle for BMX'ers , just ride the same trick base and they can relate it and don't get in their way.

You shouldn't get hated on in the first place if you don't set a typical scooter kid impression on yourself.

But if I know i'm being perfectly fair and they are still total douches. Then the skater guys I ride with tell them to stfu. Or i nail them in the head. Simple.

if someone talks shit while i'm with my scooter crew, he get's cursed out by pretty much all of us. i don't like that but i'm tired of being pushed around so when we are together, we feel empowered, i guess.

Ive noticed that too. All the skaters that hate on scooters are terrible at skating. hahah As for me I dont get alot of hate. As soon as I start shredding most people give me props or dont bother me. Alot of skaters actually think its really sick and want to ride my scoot. Im also friends with alot of the skaters at my local so that helps.
