dude...

did you break it where the bars and headset thing meet??? or a bit higher up...

and also do you ride stock headset or upgraded??? cuz if its upgraded then you dont need that nut thing...that goes where the threads are??? you kno uhh...right above the stock headset cover....lol

instead of that if you snapped it high up then you can just take taht off and use it

hope its clear enghoff, i used a threadless bmx fork tube so i want from threed sr fork to threadless the only probalem is i still havent found a compression bolt, but i geuss you could use a threaded bmx fork tube but then if it brakes because its threaded ur fucked, or if you really want a threaed you could just do this and the bring the fork tube to be threaded, but just be a real man n go thread less! hope this helps

your forks and wheel changed colors as you were fixing your sr forks :O

anyway yeah id go with what Corey Kalmann seems like it would work good

lol yea ^^

the only other way I know to do it is to be a thick ass peice of 1 1/8 tube to to a machine shop have some of it mill down so it will fit snug into the rest of your sr fork and then welded and grinded

but you have to have access to a machine shop and milling machine for this so.. the my other way is al little easyier

That's basically what you do only don't put any tube inside. If you take it to a welding shop they will be able to line up the pieces on their own and if you put a piece of aluminum T tube in a steel tube and weld on it the aluminum will contaminate the steel weld and then your forks will break again.

Agreed at the extra tubing, there's no need for any.

BMX fork tubes are usually so thick that you can use some filing machines to file a part of the tube a bit thinner so it would fit in SR fork, press it all down and weld it. It also doesn't need to haave a gap between the tube ends.

I guess it kind of could because of the extra leverage, but it's only really clamping right above the headset, and I'm sure there's a bit of play higher up between the bars and the fork.

The longer, the better. All your leverage is in your bars anyways so it doesn't matter but if the forks are too short it can damage your bars.

How so? Not trying to be argumentative, but I really want to now.

If the fork tube is longer basically it will be harder to bend the bars back because the fork tube will be higher up.

If your forks are too short with the amount of leverage you have on your bars it forces the top edge of the fork tube to cut into your bars causing them to snap at the base.
