so first of all ur gonna need 1 old forktube, 1 star nut, a bolt and a washer
tools, hack saw , hammer ,wrench, clamp

step 1, saw of about 1 and a half inch of your fork tube { perferably threaded]

step 2, take your star nut and place it on tope of the cut forktube and place it in a clamp [not a scooter clamp] hold it together until it is tight the slowly tighten the clamp to press the starnut in.

step 3, one the starnut is in the fork tube place it in the end of ur bars, take the rest of your fork tube and put that in the bars after and hamer the starnut/forktube in however long your fork is.

step 4,take a washer and place it at the bottom of your fork and put the bolt through the washer at the bottom so the bolt stick out the top of ur fork tube.

step 5, screw the star nut into the bolt until ur headsets nice and tight, tighten your clamp and ur ready to ride!amazed

there is a way to make it work. get a 6mm bolt and drill through above the starnut and done. and yes it works i tried it recently

dude, ur idea wont work, to work that forktube gotta be welded to the steer tube of yoru bars... because when you tight the compression bolt, it will just pull that forktube down, not the bars. the best solution...

Step 1: Get the right starnut.

Step 2: Do it properly.

This. If you drill through the forktube above the starnut, it won't move.

I got myself banned.
Yeah it will work, but than you got a bolt going through your bars. I'd rather spend $2 on a new starnut, have it work properly and look nice.

I wish I could find a place that sells starnuts for $2 :(

ics works better than the "scs", is less expensive, stronger, simpler and better.

you just need to do it properly and use a locking washer on the fork and a drop of thread lock in the star nut
