For some reason hex bolts don't work well for HIC. But allen-head bolts do, so if it's a hex bolt (6 sided) ditch it

Locktite the bolt threads, make sure you use blue locktite, red is permanent.

not really permanent man..

Loctite® Threadlocker Red 271™ is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. It protects threads from rust and corrosion and prevents loosening from shock and vibration. It is only removable once cured by heating up parts to 500°F (260°C).

Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, heat your forks up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Yeah actually I used to use red loctite on my ultra pro to keep the axles tight, I never once had a problem trying to get it loose. I think they mean it forms a permanent bond itself that doesn't allow it to loosen until you physically break the bond.

Maybe you guys used a different locktite than the one I use. The red locktite I have keeps shit together permanently. I tried it out before using it on my scooter, thank god. Or i would've had a bad day.

Industrial grade shit ftw

That's true Rob. Some types of red locktite can be used to secure the propeller on a boat so some types are really strong.

There are a few red loc-tites. They have numbers. Some is weaker, some stronger.
Blue is better for the stuff on scooters. Red is pretty risky, considering if it is really good stuff, you'll strip the heads of the bolts.
