Pull the deck straight up as high as you can,and don't slap the deck with ur hand...just grab it and flick it...goodluck

look at the fingerwhips flat thread it'll help..

but for fingerwhips:

reach down instead of pulling the scooter really high. the higher you pull it up the further you have to push it back down before you can land back on it

and

get your hand back on the bar as fast as you can after you hit the deck so the rotation is easier and faster too

then practice more!

You sir are completely wrong, you NEED to bring it up for the deck to rotate before it hits the ground

go do a fingerwhip flat and tell me how high your deck comes up.

I'm not saying don't pull the deck up.. of course you have to pull it up to hit it but the higher you bring it up the longer its going to take you to push it back down to land on it too is what im saying so dont pull it way up to your chest or something like you're making it sound. you want it to be about knee high. your FEET staying up will give the deck time to get back to the ground and getting your hand back on the bars to keep the rotation going all work together

Lol you have no idea who you're talking to.

As for fingerwhips, there's a couple ways to do them.

Reach as low as you can and hit the deck.

Pull the deck up and smack it.

Pull the deck up and stretch your arm to meet it halfway, usually around where your knees are or so.

Get your hand back on as fast as possible.

I think i do know im talking to. A-Brad is A god ;)
buht when i do fingerwhips I do bring it up as high as i can buht like not to my chest high. I can Fingerwhip flat.
Also, i think it is much easier to push down then to pull up.

alright i can stick them like inbetween my feet now so i improved, i went with the not pull so high method like just to my knees and smacked it on the very back i just need to land them two footed

haha. you guys are too kind. but thanks Joe =P

i think we were kind of agreeing but saying it differently.. we should say knee high and call it even ;)

as a general rule with fingerwhips i think if you're doing it out of flyout, or on some kind of ramp its easier to pull it up higher and have time to get it back down cause then you don't have to lean over as much, etc. BUT for flat or off something really small is what i was talking about mainly. at least for me if you can keep the deck relatively low its not taking as far of a trip to come up and go back down. thats all.

congrats though newby you'll get em soon if you keep practicing! somebody else said it too but if you say to yourself "im going to fully commit" and do it instead of not expecting to land it you'll get them. i remember when i was learning them thinking that at least.

and one last thing to complete this book: once you learn them off curbs or something pretty low, go down to like a peice of plywood on a 2x4 then flat after that. then its not such a monumentous task to go straight to.

happy fingerwhipping!
