How'd you start tailwhips?

I can already tailwhip but I'm just wondering how you started practicing them. Did you trampoline? jump off curbs? whatever.. i just learned jumping off of curbs.

It took me over a year to learn tailwhips, and I still suck at them>_<

I learned them by doing these:

trying really hard to do the tailwhip, and every time move my feet closer, and close together; until a land with both feet back on the deck.

Kicker for me. Pretty consistent of the kicker with catch, but I think I've landed like 3 flat? Pathetic.

It would make sense that they are. Yo are in the air longer, so why shouldn't they be?
Idk, for me it was easier to learn them flat then off curbs. It seemed to me that the longer I was in the air the slower I would whip. I learned them off curbs after I learned them flat.

That makes sense actually. Since your in the air longer maybe you though you didn't have to whip as fast. I remember when I could even whip a kicker I almost landed a whip down a curb. Stock headset too. It might make it easier, then, if yo learn it UP a curb, so it forces you to whip faster.

, im quite happy now, ive almost got them... i land about 3/4 the way around... next time i got to skatepark ill try them over a box...

if i do get it all the way around it lands about half a feet away from me.... is there something im doing wrong or am i just scared of it hitting me?
