Start with jumping up in a regular and try to slide into the hurricane position a bit more every time. after you got that down you can try too just jump straight into the hurricane

no dont jump straight into the hurricane. make sure you get slightly into boardslide first and then slide into a hurricane, otherwise you might go over the rail and ive never seen someone fall and still be able to ride after doing one of those. it hurts really bad and its super dangerous to jump right into the hurricane, it happened to me and i have a serious mental block from doing them now.
just practice pushing your back foot into the rail and pulling your front foot in the opposite direction right when you get onto it, and try and make it so you are on top of the rail as possible, dont lean off to the side you jumped on to it from, otherwise you won't be able to lock in. its all about the push and pull of your feet/lower body, dont spin on to it or basically, dont go fakie on to it. you should still be able to see in front of you/be faced the same way you started

well im just saying if you feel comfortable you can, but if your back wheel goes over the rail (which, half your wheel is only like 1.5 inches safety room holding you back from going over) you're fucked

if you've ever tried to get into a back feeble but hopped too high and landed on the top of the ledge and rode down it (which happens all the time), thats basically the exact same thing.

Word thanks jellyneck I feel like the part about staying forward but pushing your feet/arms backwards will really help

What I like to do is throw 90 degrees into a board, kinda twist my body and then lock it in with my dropouts. They feel really nice, and look really clean. Hope it helps.

It's all about the twist, the speed, and putting your weight on your back foot. I just attack the rail with generous speed, twist my bars to my back side, stomp the back foot, then push off on the back foot to help twist back around. You'll be surprised at how secure the back wheel can be.

I encourage you to start doing all your tricks with enough speed that it scares you. You'll find that you'll naturally have the right balance with speed because you give yourself less time to think about it and just do what your body feels is right.

I keep doing this it's the worst type of bail ever. Cant really get the whole late spin thing down so now I over-commit and die
