Form follows function, some of you guys need to realize that. Saying that it looks bad is a terrible argument. And the fact is that it does work better than inverted compression, there is no denying that.

Edit: If you wanna raw it, get some oven cleaner. But when you do that the clamp will end up being a white/sorta metal color. Maybe when mine gets super scratched I'll raw it and polish it, that would be so sick.

wow, they add 2" to your bars?
thats lame
then you cut your bars 2" or order em 2" shorter
is that really too hard to do?
Haha it really isnt that hard. People need to
look this shiit up.

Just people need to stop complaining because
we are lucky this sport has even gotten this far.
If it wasn't for Andrew/SR were would we be. Way
further back then we are now. Just be happy
with what there is out there and stop bitchin!

Some things I disagree with while others I agree.

I think the weight would effectively balance out a scooter more. Also, if weight is a problem, remember you're riding a scooter, which is almost the same as a bike, just lighter. A scooter won't weight more than a BMX bike, and if you think a scooter is too heavy, go try your scooter tricks on a bike and come back and try to tell me your scooter is too heavy with a straight face.

I agree about the starnut thing you mentioned. I thought that the starnut would become incorporated where the top cap lip is, and be like inverted compression is, with the bolt.

I disagree with it being complicated. It IS a BMX stem, just adjusted to work on a stem. Take the bar clamping part, turn it 90 degrees and place it over the top cap, widen it, and you have SCS. People think its over complicated because most kids on this website can't put time into figuring something out or use some common sense.

Adjusting the bar height to accommodate for it is easy. I'll explain it in 1 sentence:

CUT OFF THE FUCKKING SLITS

It's not hard to understand. If you're ordering bars from the SR store order them in SCS size that you ride, they come without slits at the ridable size you need. 20" SCS bars will measure 18" to compensate for the 2 inches of rise you get from the SCS. If you have to, order big, so you can cut them smaller.

Those are my thoughts.

Edited for spelling, its 1AM and I forgot what those red lines were for.

it may be just me, but that sounds more like a freak out then debating...

The need for a star nut has NOTHING to do with the SCS, and EVERYTHING to do with your fork...

I think the SCS is a great idea, it is a stem for scooters. It makes matching parts up easy. I just dont like the bulky look that comes with it. There are other ways to do the job that work just as well maybe even better, but none of them will work with EVERY fork and bar combo. And that is the best part about it.

edit - Oh and when I said "maybe even better" I just meant by preferance, like looks, and ease of use.(even though the SCS is pretty damn easy) I know the SCS is dialed at keeping sh!t tight!

I own SR.
Mat,

Basically everything you said is wrong. The only legitimate concern you voiced is that about weight. It is better to sell heavy parts that will last first instead of selling light parts that won't. You build strong parts first to see if the concept even works then you worry about reducing weight and unnecessary strength later. That is how all industries work so if you don't see that and see the clear advantages of the SCS then I really question if you are qualified to be making scooter parts.

If you would like a complete list of why the SCS is better in comparison to the ICS you can PM me or email scooterresource@gmail.com
