so what i do is push down on my bars really hard as im tightening it to compress it. it seems to ride fine for five minutes than the top headset cup starts to jiggle around and making it very loose.
Hello? He said he is using BUFF bars, not SR forks, as i'm currently trying to find out what fork is he using.**knowpeder** said:sounds like your compression nut was installed wrong so it wiggles loose...
Did you install your starnut into the bars? Like this?Rugrats said:Im Using threadless sr forks
Yes. Without the starnut, the bars will keep sliding.Rugrats said:so wait is the starnut my solution? is there any other way to still get em to work?

that way you would destroy the core of the starnut, which may come loose from the starnut and start spinning on the flangs, so you'd never be able to attach a bolt in it.Rugrats said:cant i just put a shorter bolt in it than hammer the bolt itself? thats how i do it on my bike
It won't destroy if your careful, i know of a couple people that did it. I think Andrew does it haha.Madis said:that way you would destroy the core of the starnut, which may come loose from the starnut and start spinning on the flangs, so you'd never be able to attach a bolt in it.Rugrats said:cant i just put a shorter bolt in it than hammer the bolt itself? thats how i do it on my bike
