im dumb and need help

i bought forks that have a weld on the top of them so i cant install a starnut. would the fork still be useable if i cut off about a quarter of an inch off the top? please reply

wach him cut the fork tube instead of boring out the hole

it's a small hole, boring it out would require more effort.

cut the cap off and install a starnut, easy as pie.

I cut the top and installed a standard size starnut and ran SCS
