I'm pretty sure i've seen this done already

im thinking about making some flat metal reinforcements just a bit longer than my dropouts so basically like a quarter of the deck...would this make a difference at all?

so if i put it like just a little past the break it will weaken the deck?
Yes, wherever the reinforcement ends, the deck is a little weaker.
But the weak point where the reinforcement ends would still be stronger than non-reinforced dropouts.
If you want to do it, make the strip go about 2 inches past the brake hole.

yeah ok thanks because i cant snap a deck ive only been riding for a little while and i dont do allot of crazy stuff...i just bought the deck with a small crack in one of the dropouts

it costs allot to do it where i live and i only really have enough...but if i can find square stuff i will reinforce the whole deck
