You should have saw the prize packages for TIC, they were sweet as shit. Scooter, razrrack, $$(Jesse got 200 for first place in pro), deoderant, helmets, t shirts, candy and maybe more shit. These packs could be even better since were planning out the prizes a few months ahead.

Dibble, your right, but with such a low number of scooter riders in the UK, you need to know that if you travel halfway across the UK to get to a comp, and there are no pro's, you will be hella pissed.

And Coire, how long till you become pro then?
Why would you be pissed if no "pros" are there? Are you that focused on image instead of riding for fun? Oh and let me guess... you wouldn't enter the competition, you'd just go and watch because you would be too nervous to ride in front of the "pros"? YOU are no different then the "pros" so don't look at them or treat them any differently then anyone else and if they try to act like they are something special then kindly tell them to go f--- themselves because it is all an act and they know it... they are just trying to milk their image for all it's worth.

Also, there is no such thing as a professional scooter rider, only scooter riders who have sponsors. The most anyone on "Team Razor" makes is $500... a year... plus some cheap China Made P.O.S. scooters. You could make that much money in a week at a normal 9-5 job. Do you know how long $500 lasts in California? About 1 week if you are living on your own with luck on your side like any legitimate professional should be... car payment, car insurance, health insurance, fuel, rent, food, cell phone, gas&electric, internet, etc. Now tell me the name of one scooter rider who pays for all that on their own WITH money from a sponsor. Then and only then will I tell you there is such a thing as a "Pro Scooter Rider". Until then there are only scooter riders with cheap sponsors.

One more thing... isn't "halfway across the UK" like 100 miles?(<--- sarcasm) But still not a very good excuse. The UK is like the size of California and a lot of the kids coming to the competitions here are travelling a hell of a lot farther then that.

Another one more thing... wether 5 people show up or 100 people show up, a competition is a competition. You have to start somewhere and work with what you've got if you expect it get anywhere... and yes, I am emphasizing YOU.

Stop crying and do something about it. These competitions didn't just happen out of thin air, they were organized by riders for riders who got the support of parks and companies. The only thing you are saying by telling us "Comps have become really USA & Australia oriented." is that kids in the UK are too lazy to organize something for themselves. The Swiss comp at the ASSIR building went very well last year... did you go? Do you even plan on going to the next one there?

Why not? I sent $90 worth of SR shirts to the TIC competition not to mention the $40 postage to get it there in time and I knew there was no way I was going to be able to go. Don't be so selfish. If you want to see this sport go anywhere as a whole then you have to contribute your share to the COMMUNITY.

---------------------This last bit is for everyone else-------------------------

I am really tired of all you kids who want everything handed to you.

"We need a comp someone make it for us!"
"We need to be in the X- Games just because we say so!"
"Someone sponsor me because I want to be sponsored!"

There are VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY few people who actually do anything for this sport and the rest of you just make demands on what you think/want to be done so here's the deal:

STOP BEING SO F---ING LAZY AND START DOING THINGS FOR YOURSELF. NO ONE IS GOING TO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP YOU UNTIL YOU SHOW THEM YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING ALREADY ON YOUR OWN.

IF YOU WANT A COMPETITION IN YOUR AREA THEN ORGANIZE IT!

IF YOU WANT TO BE IN THE X-GAMES... TOO BAD NO ONE IS GOOD ENOUGH YET!

IF YOU WANT TO BE SPONSORED THEN SHOW US WHY DON'T TELL US.

STOP BEING SO CHEAP: There are shirts for sale in the store that clearly say "All proceeds going to upkeep of the site and future sponsoring and organizing of competitions." And how many of you have bought a shirt? A whooping 5 out of 650 people on this site so I really am completely tired of you whinning for this and that if you are not willing to do something as simple as buying a shirt to support the sport. It's not like I want you to buy a giraff... it is a t-shirt like the ones everyone wears... it is practical and most importantly all the proceeds are going towards the very same competitions you are all so apparently desperately in need of.

I don't know how much clearer I can make it for you people.

Right, sorry to go off topic for a moment.

Andrew, what I said was not from my point of view. I was trying to point out the fact that there are not many riders in the UK, so that comps are hard to organize with parks that just aren't interested, and that, if better riders (sometimes known as pro's or classified as pro's) were to turn up, then people watching the sport can see what can be done and become more interested, I think alot of the reason for people not riding scooters is because they don't know what is capable on them, that's why, when you tailwhip next to someone, their balls drop. If someone from outside the sport were to see a better rider, they will stay and watch, but (without disrespect to riders newer to the sport) people will pay less attention to less progressed riders, so a better rider will attract attention to the outsiders, which is also what we need and want for this sport.

At only 16 I find it hard to get places, I use all public transport and pay for everything with my own job, so getting halfway across the UK is hard for me, as it is for someone to live off $500 in CA.

I am not image obsessed, and I don't care who sees me ride, I ride because I want to, I ride on my own and I don't care, it keeps me happy. If I was at a comp, I would of been organising it, and for sure, riding in it.

Also, I have been looking into organizing a competition here in the UK, it would cost about Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?£140 to rent out a place for the day, which is all good, and even if we can't get many riders there, it would be good to have a session with a group of riders.

And 1 more thing, if you are willing to ship to the uk, I will happily pay all costs through paypal.

And back on topic to the comp.......it looks like one very tidy park to be riding, and, I may be up/down( whichever way it is to the US to get to this comp).....to ride here, or maybe CA, anywhere, just america.... :D

I didn't mean to direct that post straight towards you or the others I quoted... it goes for everyone else out there reading it. I just quoted you guys because it triggered things I have been thinking about for awhile now and felt needed to be said. Sorry.

I want to buy a SR shirt and i am perfectly able too with paypal but until there is shipping to Canada I cant.

Back on topic I guess: Will there be and before/after comp seah's? I am steying 2 days in buffelo and it would be cool if people who went to the comp had a half day of park and a half day of street.

youve just changed my opinion about alot of things andrew..

and ive never thought about buying sr shirts, are you able to send shirts to australia, im sure alot of australian riders would purchase one

I can ship international now I just need to finish setting it up for the different countries. When it's ready you'll know.

K back on topic... and sorry for going off topic to but sometimes it happens.

I will do what I can to support this competition but everything I do comes out of my pocket so my funds are limited which is why one person alone can't do this. I am willing to donate some SR shirts but not until I have at least broken even on shirt sales which is still a ways away. If you want SR to support competitions you first have to support SR.
