i have a sony dcr-trv320. its my first sd camera and my parents gave me it for free so im not complainin. i was just wondering if it has good quality and if its a good beginner camera

Don't even waste your time, it uses Digital 8 film. You're best off throwing it on ebay and depending on what you want (SD or HD), get one of these-

SD:
Panasonic GS series
Sony TRV900/950
Canon Optura 10/20

HD:
Sanyo Fh1
Canon Vixia series
Panasonic SD9
