at the moment im running homemade SCS on my threaded forks its holding up super awesome, but im worried that its not too stable, would a proto or apex work on threaded forks?

The only reason i see to run SCS on a threadless fork is to get rid of slits for snapping bars. If you think you are going to snap bars are the slits, you're going to probably break your forks at the threads first. get threadless forks, then worry about getting the compression.

Seeing that anyone who has ever done it has damaged their scs and fork while adding unnecessary weight and price I would say this qualifies as why not.

the reason i wanna know is my threads on my fork are ------- they dont work anymore it takes like 2-3 hours to get it on, and after that i have steel shavings off the fork from getting it on, so i wanna know if i could use a SCS even though i have a threaded fork, i ahve a threadless headset aswell so i thought it could work

doing that would lower the outer diameter of the forks, and cause the bars to not clamp properly.
