yea most of us want respect or popularity when it comes to scootering, i honestly like the underground feeling of it and could care less if people dont like it

Kota is a god at scootering. I don't give a shit if you don't like his style, or who he is as a person. He has like every trick he knows how to do dialed, and can win any contest on any day. I guarantee he is the best person that could be representing us on America's got Talent.

Couldn't they let someone else do it?

Kota will get up there, show off his own shop and boost his ego even further.

I'm glad that its going to be on there, but NOT Kota.

If anyone it should be Kota. Although we don't like him as riders, he is undoubtably a crowd pleaser - arguably the best. He will bring publicity but only really little kids.

What are they gonna do?

You wanna know why I think he is gonna be a bad representative for us? The fucking elbow/knee pads and midget bars. He looks like a fucking tool when he rides and it will look stupid.

Why would we want to be represented on Americas Got Talent? How is Americas Got Talent "pushing the sport" at all?

Catalyst pushed the sport, Dissidence Street Jam pushed the sport... Americas Got Talent? I don't care about some bullshit American reality show that exploits whatever it touches for the almighty dollar. That shit is not us, that is not who we are or what we do.

I don't even know if it's actually true but I would be sad if it was, than I would ignore it and pretend it never happened.

How you ride and how you act pushes the sport [insert what travis said here], not going on national tv and doing hundreds of flippity tricks on a quarter pipe.

Going on america's got talent is like admitting you don't have enough talent to actually compete with your peers in whatever you do. You just try to get the shock factor of doing it in front of a different audience who has never seen it before and will be impressed even though it's actually shit.

it'll make a lot of 12 year olds go out and buy mgps and ultra pros and maybe some of them will look up kota's site and find parts there but thats about it. so not really doing anything for the core of the sport, unless those 12 year olds stick with it and become a real rider someday

Good for kota. Other than that, who cares? You guys need to relax, you all talk about the core of the sport and stuff, but you dont understand that alot of the amazing riders today probably got into the sport because they say someone they thought was cool riding. And besides, they'll probably be interested in scootering for about 6 months, and move on. If they stick with it, than maybe they'll amount to something. Another thing I've noticed is that people these days have tended to become... Possesive. Of scootering as a sport. They want it to stay the way it is, and are very afraid of anything new, while in other places they go and say that they want the sport to progress. Just relax, have fun, and ride.
