So far in HTRLLAP my two favorite chapters have been "Its More Than Just Rain or Snow" and "Is That a Symbol?". In "It's More Than Just Rain or Snow" Foster explains how weather as has a certain purpose in a story. One point that Foster made was how spring symbolizes hope because of the new growth. I was able to connect the weather in both The Road and The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. In The Road, it is constantly snowing and never really changes, which plays in hand to describing the isolated world. As for the Story of Edgar Sawtelle, rain symbolizes hope a few times in the story. In the chapter "Is That a Symbol?" Foster explains how a symbol can stand for numerous purposes. Rather than having a intended meaning, a symbol stands for something entirely different, such as a flute or a syringe.
