yeah sean what you show is true. their older songs have the same basic song structure, and What I've Done is probably close to my least favorite on their new cd. I still like it for sure, but some of the other songs blow it away. Most songs on that CD don't follow the stereotypical linkin park format, which is a really good thing. I liked their old sound, and i like the new stuff. I guess id like to consider myself lucky i like more than one specific type of music? haha. i hate all those kids stuck into the older stuff "zomg this new stuff sucks" when i think just looking at lyrics and whatnot its alot better, to me it looks like they just put a lot of time into it and I love it.

yeah i get what youre saying. i listen to alot of music that other people consider shitty, so it doesn't really matter.

ok so i got to see them live last night.

ill just do a thing on everyone i saw.

Saosin - thought they were great live. their whole set had a lot of energy to it and they played really well. I also got all of their autographs after the show haha :)

Mindless Self Indulgence - Didn't really stay to watch them, but i could see them from a distance. They looked like they were going completely crazy on stage. I only recognized one song they played, and thats recognized, not knew. haha. Didn't really make much of an effort to see them, was busy chillin and such.

Placebo - was waiting really far away to get in but from what i could hear they sounded decent. Again i was far away so thats bias fo sho.

HIM - their vocalist is a chain smoker, thats it. He came on stage wtih a cigarette. They played like 6 or 7 songs, and he had 9 or 10 cigarettes in that time. It was sweet recognizing a song from them just from watching like viva la bam and whatnot, but I don't think they are as good as they are made out to be, at least live.

Julien K - Eh. Was the first band we saw on the main stage so we didn't have too high of expectations. I thought the different sounds they threw into their music was pretty cool, and how you can see them doing different effects with sounds live was pretty cool.

Taking Back Sunday - They were pretty sad from the start. I guess one of their normal guitarists' wife had a baby the night before so he wasn't playing, and their drummer had 3 discs in their back messed up so he wasnt there. They had a backup guitarist playing (from saosin) and a backup drummer (from an unknown band?) and overall i thought they were pretty good. I recognized a few songs from them and everyone was singing make damn sure! haha.

edit - by sad at the start i meant with members not being there, they still played well.

My Chemical Romance - I don't really like them so i wasn't all that excited to see them. They had a good stage presence and had the crowd going a lot and they had fire, which made their set gnar. Every once in awhile when the fire came out i got excited haha. They played all their hits and whatnot so i knew a few. Their vocalist has "Fuck" tattoo'd on his neck, so hes cool. not. haha.

Linkin Park - Everything I expected but way more. I have a bunch of live performances from them on my computer already so i knew pretty much what to expect. They did change up some stuff though so i was stoked. Mike busted out a freestyle and then had it change into a fort minor song it was pretty sick. They had like a 2 or so minute drum solo randomly in the middle of bleed it out and i was thinking "what now nate grant" although nate's stuff is probably better haha. Just yeah overall they were sick, i started off in like row 14 and i climbed over people/seats and eventually got up right in the first row. all during the lats song i was just standing on my seat pissing everyone off because i was so stoked haha. Such a good band, good songs, great live performance. Sexy time.

It was all over, and as I was walking out I was thinking to myself....

Life is good.
haha.

So yeah, check out Projekt Revolution when it comes to your town!

And there are more bands in it that i either didnt get to see play at all (madina lake/styles of beyond) or just didnt even hear enough to give a broad review.

there were ramps there and i wish i had brought my scoot :( lol

<3 LP
