Locknut stuck?

I was going to clean out my headset and was trying to move the lock nut and about half way up the forktube it's stuck. I've tried using grease, and other shit but it still wont budge. Im asking what to do because its impossible that ive stripped the lock nut because this is the first time ive ever tooken it out.
Also now its stripping my forktube, and making huge divots in it so i stopped. What should I do to get it off?

I was thinking if i cant get it off, ill just have to cut my forktube in half, and get a new fork.

stick your front wheel and fork legs in a vice. grab a pipe wrench and turn that fucker like hell. also, lube it up. the first time taking it off is always the hardest b/c it has loctite on it (well, mine did and was hard as shit).
if you are still having trouble, stick a metal pipe on the handle of the wrench and turn it by the metal pipe. it creates more leverage and makes it easier for you.

i would use a vice like joe said

but dont unscrew it like undo it, id suggest u put it in the vice, & tighten back up the lock nut, this will hopefully correct the tread which is started to stuff up, if he just puts it in a vice & forces it off like b turnning it his going completely FK the tread

i suggest yeah you vice it tight then tighten the lock nut till it goes down past the part thats seems wrecked, once done have look wheere it wanted to stop, it probley started getting hard to turn due bit of dirt, or your bars if rode loose just once u could have FKED The treads, if there is bit fillings there due u tryed unscrew it when it got tight & hard to undo, wipe it with a dry pc of material to remove any fillings before you retry to unscrew it
