I'm really looking for a new camera, for $800 to $1000. Suggestions would help, but I'm really looking for some good sites around that price range. Kinda looking for something thats manual and a 3 chip like a sony vx 1000, 2000, or Canon GL2 or XL1. Hopefully you guys can help me out :D

Yea, but I'm worried about getting a camera and finding out it has a dead pixel, or the firewire port is not working, or something else.

Then don't buy a used camera. easy as that.

Get an HV30 and the 43mm opteka .3x fish for it. The footage will look exponentially better than a gl2 or any of that shit.

I dont care what anyone says, fuck hv30s, and they dont look any better with a fish on it. Auto exposure sucks ass, and they dont look crisp, the iso or somethings makes them look too busy. I would rather have a vx over a hv any day. Anyways, Im not just using the camera for filming riding, I'm going to school for film, and I love making movies, and the hv30 lacks that control I need. I've been looking into the Cannon XL1, and so far I'm liking it. I might go with this and get a 12 hour battery and case. http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-XL1-Mini-...eras?hash=item3ca4d6470f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
