Looking for more French ID deck information

Hello Everyone-
I've been off my scooter for the last 6 months because of a knee injury, and as I'm getting back into it, I opted to buy a new deck. I guess that's all beside the point though.
Anyhow, up until this morning I had been flitting between a flight and reventon, as I'm sure most do. I opted away from a district as I'm 5'10" and 205 lbs, and I didnt see any outstanding outcomes stemming from that combo. Anyhow, this morning I got an early morning text from my buddy letting me know SZ had gotten 10 French ID decks in, and without any research on my part I went ahead and ordered one. Now, I've been searching through a large number of threads spanning the last 6 months and while most of them stated, "this deck looks great" or "flat bottom looks awesome" etc, I haven't found a lot of first hand experience from riders actually Riding with them. Obviously, next week I'll be able to form my own opinions, but in the meantime, would anyone be kind enough to rehash any positive or negative experiences either they or friends they regularly ride with have had?

TomK had one and loved it, he traded it or something but it held up for him. Plus the whole SZ team uses them, so you should be fine. I might pick one up instead of an addict actually, i've been waiting for them to be shipped over to the states for a month or so now.

they are pretty nice which one did you buy because i think the only heat treated ones are the titanium colored ones

French ID Decks look sick. Plus theyre 4.25 and have a flat bottom. so basically theyre stronger and better district v2s with a switchblade.

I did get the black one, which is the only one they had in stock. And you're right, the titanium ones are the heat treated ones, which I was unaware of. Hmmm.

This is a little frustrating, because when I called, whomever answered was very informed to this matter, and it kinda stinks they didn't think to adjust their website when they added the item and changed some of the other info on the page.

What do you guys think? Will this deck still hold up?
Which did TomK have? From what I've seen, that guy goes hard as hell, so I'm wondering if the beat down that follows him around would equate to the extra 40 pounds I'd be pushing around on this deck.

I also work at a machine shop, so if this deck really isnt heat treated, which I should think could be found out with a simple hardness test, the same as steel, I could probably have it sent out with some of our components to have it heated. I think the only problem might be warping because the deck is so long, as well as I think most of the time the components are welded post-heat treat, and so I'm not sure if it would weaken it. I think a little research is in order :-/ or I can just ride it until it breaks, like everyone else :-D

the black ones are still strong just not as strong but ramond warner rode a black one for a while

I can see the merit in what you're saying, but I struggle more with the idea of a dialed, consistent, transition-heavy rider like Raymond being a good strength test simply because of how smooth he is. Correct me in you feel differently by all means! I think maybe this will have to be one of those "time will tell" scenarios.

My friend has the complete version of this, and it's nice to ride. Although I find the neck a little bulky, but that's just my opinion. He has had problems with the brake though, maybe it's just him.

I have one its amazing to ride, brake was rubbish even though it looked sick so I replaced it with a Switchblade.

i heard that french id started heat treating them all after a while, and that they are all treated now.

to start with scooter zone was heat treating them themselves, but french id realised it was a really good idea.

this is what i thought anyway

and they cant say its heat treated on the website then send you one thats not. if they do, you are entitled to a full refund

either way its strong as hell, not heavy,a little longer than phoenix and awesome for grinds

If I wouldn't of ordered mine a week ago, I'd heed this warning and take full advantage, I haven't had the best experiences With SZ in the past. I've been attempting to exhange some options with James, very fair options in my opinion, but to no response. He was very pertinent to respond when the conversation was related to the original sale, but as soon as it got conflicting, I stopped hearing from him. Oh well :)

Good to know that they were heating the decks themselves, after I check the hardness tomorrow I won't feel poorly heat treating it if it is indeed soft aluminum. Thanks for the info guys!
