Lucid dreaming

The old "your dreams thread" had some talk of lucid dreams so if you want to delete this and bring that back feel free.

I know many of you can lucid dream, and even more are trying to. So post stories, and more importantly explain to me how to do it!!

I had one last night where i was driving a lamborgini, and my friends were all driving piece of shit cars, so i decided to show off and was going like 150 down the freeway, then i landed into a ditch and flew like 500 feet into a lake.

Its where you trick your body into dreaming while still conscious and are able to become self-aware and control the dream.

When you can become conscious that you are dreaming, and control your dreams. Apparently you can feel everything even more intense than real life despite knowing you're dreaming.
Someone please explain how I can teach myself to do it.

lol Ive kinda had the same dream. I was driving a piece of shit jalopy up a hill and the Hulk was standing at the top. He picked my car up, turned it around and threw me back down towards the hill where I was sent flying like 500 yards. I landed in a swamp and woke up. Sick ass dream.

i had a dream i was partying in some kids house, and his rents werent home apparently so that asnt a factor. everyone is having a good time up until i have the idea of going around and jacking all of his electronics, like nice shit like ipads, ipods, phones etc. all of a sudden his dad comes out of the upstairs bathroom and starts questioning me and shit. i looked into my bag to see if all the shit was still in there and i picked up the stuff and it turned into shitty dolla store electronics that felt like flimsy tv remotes. then the dream ended but i felt so real in the dream, like as if it was actually happening. idk if it was lucid dreaming or not though

i want to lucid dream really bad but i can rarely remember my dreams so its hard to keep a dream log. i do reality checks several times a day though.

I dreamed about a girl I met yesterday last night which was cool. In my dream her friends were trying to hook us up. Pretty awesome.

Then I woke up thirty minutes early and went back to sleep and had another dream, this one, I was walking through a desert following some footprints of a camel and a man, and kept thinking about some retarded story about how the man and camel only took 17 steps but made it across the whole desert. Then I found a strange pyramid where the desert met some huge cliffs and in the cliffs was a golden skull that was the entrance to some sort of cave. But I went into the pyramid thing because I was suddenly some sort of Indiana Jones character. So when I went in, I looked around and there was a staircase and a big pool of lava at the bottom of the pyramid. So I was going to go down but then this girl appeared and called a bunch of big zombie-rat-men things so I tried fighting them with my Indiana Jones whip but it was actually just some shitty leather strings so I was captured and had to share a cell with one of the zombie things, which I started talking with while I did some finger pushups and then pullups.
Yeah that was a weird one.

I think I'm almost to the point where I can tell I'm dreaming while dreaming but it's so hard to try and bridge that gap. It's just like something happens and my brain instantly accepts it and thinks "Yeah, I'm ok with this," no matter how fucked up it really is. But I've gotten a lot better at remembering dreams since I've begun writing some down and for sure thinking very hard about what happened in them. I need to start an official dream log again.

I've heard a good way to become conscious of your dreaming is wearing a watch and making a habit of checking it like every 15 mins so you do it without thinking. then if you do it in your dream your arm will appear in your face instead of moving

EVERYONE POSTING DREAMS PUT IT IN THE DREAMS THREAD, THIS IS LUCID DREAMING SPECIFICALLY

IF ANYONE WANTS A FEW TIPS ON HOW TO PERFORM LUCID DREAMING

When something strange happens in a dream (which happens often) but something where you're like "I know that's not right" (try to be more conscious of this, find a reoccurring theme to start, maybe) then look at your hand. When you dream, for whatever reason, your mind can't process what your hand is supposed to look like. Check your hand, if it's fucked up (and it will be) you're dreaming.

Naturally after discovering that you're dreaming you'll want to get excited and are more or less conscious with your eyes clothes so you inevitably wake up. The best way to counter this is to immediately start spinning in your dreams, no matter where you are in the dream. Spin for about 7 seconds vigorously and it will take your mid off of getting so excited your body becomes overly conscious.

After that, you will literally be in control of your own body in your dream, and you just want to tell everyone in your dream that they're a figment of your imagination. It's like a video game because beforehand, you were just riding the dream, but then you realize everything is in your control.

Checking your hands throughout the day constantly in real life can help form the habit to check them in your dreams

This seems sooo out there. I don't understand and possibly will never understand how you can control your dreams even enough to look at your own hand haha.

Another good tip is draw like a square on your hand and keep looking at it like every 5 minutes once your in bed so it becomes a habit and you do it in your dream and you'll realize that its not there anymore and you'll see that your dreaming. Might not work the first time because its not a habit yet but its worked on me.

I had a lucid dream but not because I knew I was dreaming

It was a short dream in which I just got up in the middle of the night, walked to my bathroom, looked in the mirror, took a piss, then walked back to my bed, but then I woke up immediately after to do the same thing.

It was so realistic and extremely eerie
