Yeah, all this is is their HIC shim. Just buy oversize bars from them and it comes with it.

You can now run threaded forks with oversived bars. Thats what that said the pinot of it was

I wonder if this would work to ride slitted oversized bars in SCS instead of cutting pieces of old bars.

^Nope, because they use plastic. If you cut a piece of standard bars with no slit, you can put it in your OS bars so you dont have to cut the slit though.

That's what I figured, that the plastic would compress. I know about the standard bar thing, I was just curious to see if this may be a cheaper alternative.

burnz cant you just buy a hic shim for like half this price, and but the slit facing one of the sides?

The HIC shim would still compress, just not as much as if the slits were lined up.

Call around to steel suppliers and see if they'll give you a piece of DOM tubing

here's one place I found that may have something- they may even have 4130 but you really don't need 4130

tell them it's for a school project- they might have a piece in the Cut off bin.

I could send you a piece of tubing but it will be about 5-7 bux to mail it.

You could even use regular Mild steel tubing since it is not carrying or supporting any weight- just stopping the Down tube with a slit from compressing.
