Making rup bars oversized to fit hic?

As mentioned you'll need a piece of Oversize Tubing to slide over the Rup (Standard) tubing and then weld it.

Do you have access to a Welding machine?

You'll need either a Mig or a Tig, a Stick machine will be a bitch to try and weld thin walled tubing.

the Tubing is 4130 Chromoly 1-3/8" x .065

I have some if you need a short piece or you can order it from On Line Metals

So I cut the slit off the bars and weld it on

You don't have to since the Slit doesn't really matter on the RUP bars anymore when you slide the OS tubing over the RUP's.

You only need to cut the RUP's steering tube if you want it back to the original height.

You'll need at least 3 inches over the RUP tubing and 2-3 inches below so that the OS tubing will slide over the HIC.

You bump your head BMXing?

the RUP steer tube DOES NOT go with, over, under, in etc etc with the Compression system once you Taper the bars.

You are adding Over Size tubing to the RUP's tubing- the Oversize tubing now becomes the Tubing that works with the Compression system.

make sense?
