milled out headtube?

Wouldn't having a hole in the headtube let dirt and shit get inside and get all over the bearings?

just what i was thinking this morning but couldn't be arsed to type

i guess it could if your do mach1 fakies on a dirty road but riding foward with the direction the wheel spins dirt would go away from the hole. even if you do that to a dirt scooter it wouldnt really do anything i dont think because it is at the very front of the scooter and the dirt on the ground doesnt get disturbed until the front wheel hits it, and by then the headtube has alredy passed. so i dont see how it would make a difference in that way.

i dont think dirt would becasue of the cups.. and if so u could always get sealed bearings... soo smooth.. i miss it<3

to eliminate any chance of dirt im in the process of milling mine and putting a thin sheet of perspex over the hole so you can see the painted fork plus it is clean as a wistle
