"my journey to..." a new kind of how-to

the idea is basically i and torn scooters' team riders will try tricks that we can't do, and film all of our attempts. when we figure out things that will make the trick easier, we will tell the camera. after a period of time, and when the trick has finally been landed, we will then show the trick and a re-cap of all the things needed to land this trick.

what do you guys think? any questions?
it would be a longer how to video, probably north of 5 minutes. and many of the attempts would be fast-forwarded obviously.

you guys would also be able to request tricks and either i, a team rider, or someone else will work on them until we land them, and show it in the video.

feedback?

THAT is a WONDERFUL idea. I can't wait to watch you're 1st how-to. the trick should be... hmmmmmmmm... double whip to lipslide a flat rail :)

haha i wish i could even lipslide good...
i think its gonna be fingerwhip flat! or maybe hang 5s since ive never bothered to learn them...

To be honest, I think it is a bad idea. It is like me teaching you how to air like a boss. You should make tutorials of tricks you are good at, not ones you suck at.

yeah but tom think about this
when you were first learning something you probably figured out little things that helped you land it. but now that youre good at it, you forgot what those things are, it's like muscle memory. you can just do it.
well for beginners who want to learn tricks i think this could help them so they can learn from mistakes and whatnot.

but i know what you mean... like for me i'm really good at catching fingerwhips like into banks and down stairs and stuff, but now im gonna make a journey to doing them flat. you know what im sayin? im already decent at fingerwhips just learning them flat.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. I think that most of the how-to vids out there are worthless because all they do is show some dude doing the motion of a trick, telling you "to 360 whip, you gotta be able to 360 and tailwhip", and then doing one perfectly. Seeing someone's actual progress while they figure out how to do a trick would be much more helpful than seeing a pro do it easily first try.

I get it, it would be cool, but I just would rather see something from some one who knows what they are doing, but I can see how these would help.

I think its a great idea, like maybe do it on different types of park, like ledges street flyout hips out of slant and drops, but you will have to keep it really organized if you know what im saying. I think 360 whips would be a good starting trick, cause i can 3 whip just flyout, so maybe take it to hips(270 whips) off drops and others. Essentially i think this will help our sport.:)

sounds great. it would boost confidence in others too because they kinda learn it with the video if you get what i mean

Lovin' the feedback guys! It's been decided that Torn Pro rider Dalton Mazzante will be making one of these for front scooterflips! And as I said earlier, I'll be making one for fingerwhips flat.

grant i totally agree! like when people say to truckdriver, you do a 360 and throw a barspin in the middle. heres a perfect one. although those can help a little, i think this is a good idea.

but right now, people are going to be doing advanced tricks. would you guys like to see beginner tricks as well?
