yea. the footage doesn't need to be rendered or anything else, the video playback is usually set to a lower quality so you can edit your work without the video getting choppy. You can change the settings by clicking a tab right above the playback screen. I cant remember what it looks like anymore haha I switched to mac so I don't use vegas anymore.

dont worry its the smae in my vegas, it looks grainy when you drag it in, but after you put it on youtube it looks fine
