My stance

I've only just got into scootering so I really don't know too much. I need some help with my stance. At the moment, I ride with just one foot on the deck, and obviously this is going to cause problems with tricks in the long run. I ride with my right foot on the deck, and push with my left. What's better for me? Balance is really the only issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you kick with your right foot, that probably means you right regular. This means you right with your toes pointing to the right. All you have to do is put both feet on the deck angled to the right and you're riding regular! Switch them around and you're riding goofy. Just see which way feels more comfortable and go from there!

So I push with my front foot right? Because I said I push with my left. But thanks for the help. And what about using the brake, which foot? Back or front?

since you push with your left foot, you should ride goofy, which is with your toes pointing to the left. dont listen to tyler

If you stand facing the right, meaning your front foot is your left, that is Regular. If you stand facing the left, and your right foot is in front, that's Goofy stance.

I'm hoping you push with your back foot, because if you push with your front, it's called mongo. It's not a stance, it's just what they call that when you push like that. But it is super ugly, haha.

Your back foot should be on the brake. You should push with your back foot too.

So if your pushing with your left, you should be goofy. Otherwise your pushing mongo like josh said.

I hate mongo. Never push with your front foot. It really hurts your balance and you can trip over putting your foot back on the deck. It also takes time to adjust your stance before you hit whatever you were going to hit...

Some riders can really work mongo. I ride mongo, and I think it looks fine.

Well, you are one of few to think that, my friend. Because mongo is ugly. When you are shooting a clip of you doing a line, and you push in between a ledge, it will look discusting.

i push mongo ;)

You suck!

Haha, iKid. Another one of my favorite riders who pushes mongo, John Radtke. Bugs the hell out of me since he is so damn good, but the mongo pushing gets annoying. Addison used to also, but kicked the habit when people started giving him guff about it.
