my star nut thread is slipping, and my top cap is blocking me from bending it.

so, how do i fix this? i have looked around but i cant seem to find anything but drill hole into the star nut or spot weld the threads back to the star. both options assume that i can see and have access to the top cap. unless im supposed to just power through my top cap like a badass.

i dunno, some help would be awesome guys.

well i dont have any way of taking a photo. im ghetto like that. but basically, if i try and remove the top cap bolt, it will just spin the thread in the star nut. so its almost like its stripped in the sense that it will not ever come out.

i have considered putting something into the ICS hole, and smashing up at the star nut to fuck that bitch up, but i dont know how that will go over.

take ur shim off ?or get the topcap off with a flathead?

the bolt is still in the top cap and the star nut. it is impossible to remove because the thread in the star nut is rotating with the bolt when you try to twist it out. I do not think a flathead will help.

dude lol flip your scooter over and hit the top cap with a hammer i did that at a skatepark with a screwdriver and put a new star nut in

try to pry the bolt to the side when you try to loosen it. itll lodge the silver piece against the sides of the black pieces, and it should keep it in place when you take the bolt out. otherwise, you're gonna have to destroy the starnut through the bottom of the fork.

yea same happened to me and i just put an ics bolt in, hammered it, and it jammed the starnut,walaa
and just cut off ur cap or something
