Im running a double clamp on my tank bars and a reinforced stock fork that goes like 2.5 inches into the bars all the way to the top of the slit and they are solid as ----

if you take an old pair of stock handlebars and cut of the cross piece with the button holes off then cut it to the length of the fork tube and it will slide right in.
