Ok so here is a cheap compression system that i think might work. so there is a picture below describing how it would work.

things you need

-qaud clamp( not 2 razor clamps)
- bmx topcap
-starnut
-threadless forks
-bars with no slit
-shim for over fork

no but its a qaud clamp, with a shim, you could do it if you couldnt find scs anywhere though.

looks mad sketchy. many people have tried to make scs-like compression systems and they all seem the same (two clamps and a shim).

But true, if the shim was built into the clamp, it would be an SCS

I have an awful idea i want to test. put some HIC Tubing over some regular sized bars and just.. bolt it on .. haha.
then use the cut off piece of 1-1/4th bar tubing as the shim...
might work?

The fork is smaller outer diameter than the bars so there will be space between the fork and the clamp without the shim

Its a hic shim, but the bars are stacked on the bmx cap, like in scs with a clamp to support it all. so its both
