first off, I find doing the scooter flip on the outside of your spin is the only way that really works.. so if you scooter flip toward your toes, spin FS.
Mainly I try to carve more so I don't need to spin a full 180, and I sort of kick the deck to the side more, so it almost heelwhips a tiny bit before I throw the flip that way it's turned a bit more when I catch it. kinda hard to explain, but it's a really goofy trick to learn just practice. quarter to bank at first helps too, cuz trying to land these in quarter without being able to catch them solid is death, I've like body-slammed flatbottom more times on this trick than anything else
