New Bars Question

I am trying to place new T-bars on my sons Razor Pro scooter. The new bars are smooth on the inside and the old ones are threaded. We still have the threaded fork end on his scooter that the new bars slide over. The clamp is the standard clamp for his Razor Pro. Once installed, any moderate force pulls the bars off. The threaded ones don't obviously. How do we eliminate this problem? Does he need a new clamp? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

tighten the clamp ALOT, and if you cut down the bars, make shure you cut vertical slits at the bottom of them about 1.5-2 inches long

hmm they should work fine. the threads mean nothing. thats just from wear on aluminum. do the bars have a slit in htem at the bottom?

Depending on what bars you got, the OD might be sliiightly less than usual, requiring more tightening. You can cut out a soda can and make a shim to put between the clamp and the outside of the bars.

well if youve seen any other threads in here youll find that no bars come threaded. also yeah make sure your bare have a 2 inch slit on the bottom... oohh yeah. if needed, cut a shim from a soda can and put that over your fork

The bars do have a slit in them. I didn't measure it. I think I will try the soda can trick.

Do you think a new clamp will help?

Thanks again for the advice.
