New compression/fork idea!

this is in the compression section cause its basically aimed to help with compressiona

Okay idk if this is thought of but i think it'd be pretty cool!!!
The idea is to be able to be able to use ALL compressions, including threaded. Which means that if you ever have a reason to change compression you don't have to buy a new fork

So what you get is:
a fork which is obviously has a smaller forktube and a starnut/threads inbuilt to the INSIDE

locknuts for threaded compression

3 shims: one with threads on it.
: one that is ordinary size which brings the fork to usual size
: one that is thicker and when installed over the forktube brings it to the HIC size.

Topcap and bolt

SO basically what you do is if you want to run HIC you put the bigger shim over and tighten the topcap and bolt to the inner threads of the fork
if you want to run threaded you do the same but you put the threaded shim over the forktube
If you want to run SCS you put the normal size shim over it, put the clamp over then put the topcap in, like usual
same for ICS

This may sound overdone but really i think a fork usable for all 4 compressions would be revolutionary
Thoughts? Constructive criticism is great but please no 'OMG U DERP THATS STUPID'

lol i didnt want to make a thread for this but i had an idea too that i think iz awesome... btw conzi i think your idea iz good too... so in every clamp/compression system there is a bolt in the middle that goes through the clamp, then through the bars, through the forks through the bars again and out the other side that way you dont have to spend all day on getting your bars and forks straight cuz thats always annoying... any thoughts... sorry conzi if im invading your thread...

It's a good idea, although I don't think the threaded one is needed. I mean lets face it, who genuinely runs threaded compression out of choice these days lol.

it would be nice, but i dont think anyone would go from threadless to threaded anyway.

the only thing about the hic shim is that not all headsets and headtubes are the same height so some decks it would be just right and some like mgp's it would stick out over top, if im reading it correctly... sorry if i didnt understand it

threaded wouldnt work anyway.
for it to work you would need the shim to be attached to the fork somehow, like glued or something because a shim that can spin around the fork wouldnt work. the locknut would just make it spin and not thread on, and if it did you wouldnt be able to tighten it up with out the shim spinning.

so basically im saying the the threaded shim would need to have a way to firmly attach to the fork

Nick, the idea is that you use a HIC-like idea, so once again you use a topcap and a starnut.

Yeah guys I agree that it's dumb, but imagine if threaded stock razors and things come with a fork like this?

But thanks for all the feedback.
