New compression??

I was just wondering if this would work. A normal hic compression but then you put another shim over the hic shim so that you can use standard sized bars. Has anyone thought of this or tried this?

Q. What size are Standard bars
A. 1-1/4"

Q. What size are Oversize bars for HIC
A. 1-3/8"

Which number is greater than the other?
