Im so smart.

I was just wondering if this would work. A normal hic compression but then you put another shim over the hic shim so that you can use standard sized bars. Has anyone thought of this or tried this?

this would not work.
however, if you use the new blunt declare forks that run a new compression called ihc (integrated headset compression) remove the compression thingy it has, make a narrower hic shim to fit the more narrow steer tube of the forks. then you could run hic with standard or aluminum bars. then to use fatty bars with that just put a normal hic shim over the mini-shim that you made and put fatty bars on that.

if you could get the crown race snug around the narrow steer tube that is.

but then again, why would you want to overcomplicate this type of thing. SIMPLE FTW!

I think I know what he is saying, hes trying to describe the compression that company made a while ago, i forget what it was called, but you put a shim over your bars like HIC, but then theres like, another shim on top of the shim and you but you bars OVER that, and use another clamp.
