new deck deck design

why don't verx make a deck with the cnc from the top as having a whole bottom would make the deck stronger wouldnt it? obvioulsly they couldnt cnc away too much at the top as it toes would get caught.

might be a stupid idea but it is just a sugestion, dont hate

no i dont think so, the top plate dosen't really add strength but the bottom plate does, try to think of a pro mod deck with no bottom plate it would snap real easy, think of the old nitro extreme, it was som much weaker because it had holes in the bottom. of course the walls are more important and with the vertx there is the I-beam so i dont think its that big of a deal anyway but i think it would be stronger with a closed bottom. i am no expert though so maybe if some technical guy like billie rainbow could explain the truth as i am not %100 on this

those are extruded decks and overall extruded decks are way weaker than cnc'd decks. It really doesnt make a difference with their decks the main strength comes from their i beam technology.

the omg vertx is near unbreakable, if someone has a picture of one breaking they should post it, im just curious on where they would break, i think its gonna break on the back where the axle goes because its a single thicker beam but it also will get grinded down from febbels, ive grinded down like 3/16 inch of mine on the back and i bananad it barly.... i dont think it can break lol i took it of some high shit to banana it

I was actually thinking about this the other day. It does seem like a logical idea.
Or maybe even one milled out on both sides...
There's a lot of new designs I have been thinking about.

ive been saying this for some time now, its the only thing really stopping cnc decks from being the best kind of deck. remember that decks bend downwards so more metal at the bottom of the deck will slow the bending process quite a bit, not welding more crap to there. you notice how much of a difference it makes when you compare it to a vertx deck the i beam helps one hell of a lot.

wow this is actually a good idea, they could have a deck solid at the bottom with a load of speed holes in the top But still have speed hole free places where walls could be for strength. the speed hole idea seems like it would work as then you would not catch your toes in the deck and snap them, is anyone understanding me?

OR they could have an almost solid bottom with a small gap in the bottom allowing the deck to flex making it even stronger! someone please draw up some design if you have a graphic design programme and free time as this could be sick.

If I get the time I might do a sketch up... But mill out the top and use replaceable deck plates, so it would look like an upside down vertx marcony deck but with a plate on top?

EDIT: NVMNVMNVM my dad activated solid works 2012 on my computer :p

does the deck get stronger if there is a small gap in the bottom like on tsi's as it allows decks to flex more absorbing impact

What vertx should do, is basically turn their deck upside down, and make bolt on deckplates for the top. 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0.

yes the small gap does make a difference because it allows it to flex down when you land butrefill the whole and not get permanantly bent. this would almost completly prevent bananad decks. that is why you will never see a bannanad tsi too, becaus ethey have a gap on the botton

cool, does it also make the deck less likley to snap?
