although you had a good idea, most of the bent stock forks i have seen have not bent where your supports are, but at the 90 degree bend like so:

to prevent the bending you have mentioned, and the bending i have mentioned, i am sure that if you added gussets on the inside of the fork, the extra work would yield a much stronger, bend resistant fork.

if the gussets are well placed, i don't think they will limit you from using a 110 mm wheel.
 
dude the sr is not really made for the ACUALLY fork part..its made so its doesnt snap in the tube..thats why it like 1/4 thick..haha..nno one really breaks the part where the wheel is..if you could break the regular threaded one off weld a FAT THICK one and put threads in it..clean up your welds and stuff..then it will be kool..
