well danny, one way to make sure you don't screw it up is to find a socket that fits in your bars snug with hardly any play. i used a marker and drew a line on my socket wrench to see how far i went in each time. you might wanna try this maybe just wait. it worked for me but im a dumb dumb and shredded my star nut somehow while riding. it did take time like about a half an hour of taking it in and out. but one i had it perfect damn it wa solid. til bing it shredded because im obviously to sketchy and broke it =]

good luck d00d.

soorry about the dub post but as of right now theres only like an inch of the allen bolt left with the star nut hammered in as far as it is right now, im worried that if i hammer it any farther in then the bolt won't reach.
Just take your time... you might have to take it apart a few times to reset the star nut just make sure it stay straight and doesn't go too deep.

The bolt only really needs to grab like a 1/4" for it to work but if you are threading it in an inch then it's probably not deep enough. Try tapping it deeper like a 1/4" at a time and see what it feels like when you put it all back together if its still loose take it apart and go another 1/4".

I know it's a pain to set this stuff up for the first time but once you have it dialed it you will never look back.

what do you mean i still lookback, hips, qp's, gaps.lol haha jk

in reality this is true i never want to ride threaded again. threadless is just to dank.

i hammered the nut farther in, and my shit still wobbles, when i put the bolt through the bottom, theres like 1/2 in. or 3/4 in. of the bolt left, so im scared to hit it any farther, what the fuck do i do?

is it going back and forth or up and down?

if it's up and down somthing up with the fork.

if it's back and forth then it's your headset.

uhh uuhh? shit fi i was there i would tell you the problem just by holding it haha.

it's threadless right? what i did was put all my weight on the bars then tighten the starnut,
that might help the up and down part ut the back and forth part sounds like somthing is possibly offset in your
headset. i don't know what else to say man=/

alright yeah its threadless, and i tightened all my stuff again and it does not wobble up and down but back and forth now, its about a 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch wobble back and forth, so if it is my headset what could be wrong with it?

Do you have bearings in your headset?
Do you have a race on your fork?
Is it really tightened down?
Are you on drugs?

That's about all I can think of.

I own SR.
There are no moving parts in the forks or the compression system so it has to be your headset.

Are you using a stock Razor crown race or are you using the one that came with the headset? You need to use the one that came with the headset.

Also, look around for a bike shop. That is a bunch of BS if they won't look at it. It is no different then a bike and if you are paying them then it shouldn't be a problem. I would just look around for other shops because eventually someone will be willing to help you out.

Yeah i'm using the headset race, i think i may have found a dude who can help me out, my neighbor is friends with a guy who owns a bike shop so hopefully he can talk to him and have him look at it, if nothing else works maybe i'll just buy a new headset.

alright went to the bikeshop and the dude put a new sealed bearing on and some headset spacers and shit works good now, plus he had some old yaks and everything worked out good :) .
