Ok so yak released a new pair of metal cores that are soposed to be better than the old ones. So I ordered a pair and got them yesterday. The first thing I noticed was that the bearing cups did not stay in when you put them in. Well I found a solution!!!! After watching a video about how to fix ovalized wheels I tried it on the bearing cups and it worked!!!! They stayed in great!!!!
Here is what you need:
-Tape (scotch, but any will work i think).
-Scissors
Here is what you do:
1. Cut a pice of tape long enough to fit aroud the outside of the bearing cup.
2. Wrap the tape around the bearing cup.
3. Cut the tape down to size.
4. Put the bearing cup in the wheel.
Whollla!!!!!!!!! The Bearing cups stay in!!!!!!!!
After taking a look at the wheels I also noticed they were wider than the old ones : ) (about as wide as eagles.)
These wheels are also harder then the old ones (88a urethane)
These wheels are also very smooth and fast!!!!
I hope this thread answered all the questions people had about the wheels!!!! : ) Feel free to leave a comment if i am wrong. I will update this thread as i test the wheels and find more pros and cons. : )
UPDATE - you can buy these wheels at www.skyhighscoot.com
Update 2 - Ok so i have been riding these wheels for two days now and i have to say they are great so far. These wheels are so smooth and nice. The only problem so far was the bearing cups.
