Nextsport - Fuzion

I just wanted to let you guys know that I do not like Fuzions. At all. The only reason I was working with them over the last year or so was because they were offering me a job doing R&D for them and were talking about making a 2-wheeled scooter as well as getting some money flowing through SR with ads and whatnot. All of which never happened. I also work closely with Dakota's dad doing promotional things for scooters and Dakota was their poster child until he recently quit the team. I was just trying to stay on good terms with everyone in hopes that it would somehow benefit 2-wheeled scooters but I do not see that happening anymore especially after this newest model Fuzion coming out using my designs without my knowledge or compensation. Nextsport has used SR to build their entire team and develop their entire new line of products and have done nothing in return for SR or the sport of 2-wheelers so I think their time on SR is growing short.

That is all for now.

No. No bashing. Kids still ride them and kids still like them I just don't think Darren needs to be here anymore using this community.

I knew they were using SR but I allowed it in hopes that it would inspire another company to make a 2 wheeler but that didn't happen so I'm done with them.

Hi Andrew,

Noticed that you took down the More than 2-Wheel forum; not quite sure why as itÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s been a great public space for SR Fuzion regulars to congregate and share information and media, but thatÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s your prerogative. Have you given any further thought to forum sponsorship and costs? I know we threw around the idea in the past but you never responded with any numbers. WeÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢re working on getting a new vBulletin forum up on our new site but are a few weeks off I would expect; I still think SR is a great resource (no pun intended) and would like to continue being a presence there for ALL so want to amicably work something out with you to either reinstate the >2 Wheel section or a specific Fuzion sponsored section.

I understand your hesitation as their seemed to be a lot of arguments but I think with a little more focused moderation (like some of our top riders/SR regulars) a section as such could be much more placid and beneficial to all. Beyond giving SR members the ability to give their input and test out new products and expand their riding capabilities I think we still can offer a great opportunity for the sport as a whole- yes they are 4-wheeled scooters. I get that- but look at the publicity that some of our riders have gotten thus far (Dakota) and how quickly others are taking the sport by its reigns and driving it on their own (like Brian Murphy and Mark Ripoll). ItÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢d be a shame to stifle their progress and dedication to something they enjoy.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Hey Darren,

There were a number of reasons the >2-wheeled section was removed on SR; a change that may or may not be permanent. I felt that Nextsport was, to an extent, using the SR community and myself to build its team, to advertise its products and to develop new products for its benefit. I also felt that Nextsports efforts to demean 2-wheeled scooters were counter productive to my own. I make 2-wheeled scooters, I sell 2-wheeled scooters and 2-wheeled scooters, at this point, are my livelihood so it is not something I take lightly. I realize that Nextsport created great exposure for the sport of scootering as a whole but in the end the sport revolves around 2-wheels, not 4. I do not believe the Fuzion is or ever will be the future of freestyle due to its great limitations and the general consensus among dedicated freestyle riders of their affection towards 2-wheeled scooters. I worked with you guys for a long time in hopes that the community would eventually become more accepting and that in turn would inspire Nexsport to develop a competitive 2-wheeled scooter (ideally teaming up with myself using my designs). Neither of those things happened which puts me in the position I find myself in now. I also find it curious that roughly a year after I suggested a self-centering rear truck or "hanger" it appears on the new Electron. That was one of the many ideas I had for your product that I was trying to pitch to Rasyad along with my 2-wheel designs. He was interested in hiring me for R&D, all of which talks of employment ceased when I mentioned royalties for my designs. This makes me very skeptical of Nextsports business practices. I had fully functioning Solidworks models of all my designs but that doesn't do any good once the cat is out of the bag and you have a full staff of designers to recreate the concept in no time. I suppose intellectual property is the hardest thing to protect without some kind of written agreement beforehand but I've learned my lesson. I hope my idea makes you guys a lot of money, maybe that will provide some sort of satisfaction for myself. As for the >2-wheeled section on SR, time will tell if that will return.

P.S. - If Nextsport wants to advertise on SR, make me an offer and we can talk.

wow. i never realized that you were helping them with designs or anything. good thing youre getting rid of them finally.

it only sucks that the rest of the community doesnt know what fusion is doing. if the fuzion riders quit they fuzion wont be able to get any farther then aisle 5 a at k-mart haha.

Dear Andrew,

IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m sorry you feel that way but if it itÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s any consolation the idea of a self returning hanger was discussed years prior to RasyadÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s conversation with you and was featured in the original prototypes of the Quadcarver years ago. Based on revenue and investment it has not been until now that the design made sense- from NextsportÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s standpoint our products take roughly 1.5-2 years to make it from initial concept to mass production. I apologize if you feel slighted but I can honestly say that all the new releases (Cobalt, Carbon Pro, Electron and other upcoming products) have been in R&D since the release of the Asphalt in 2006. Lastly, I have no idea what the future holds for scootering as a sport but with our niche product I donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t see how it was demeaning in any way. WeÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢ve catered to every suggestion and request for product changes, sponsorship support, publicity opportunities, etc. etc.- yes there are obviously many who are completely biased against the product but on the flip side there are those now that love it. I really donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t know what more you could want at this point. Our marketing efforts follow the standard product-centric design as shared by almost every company out there. I understand it bothers you and everyone else by being marketed as better than the competition but that just comes with the territory. You do the same with your line of accessories- Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â?¦Ã¢â?¬Å?they are better because..Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â??Ã? because itÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s the logical thing to do.

I have no clue of what you and Rasyad discussed but if you want me to bring something up with him just let me know. I cannot say what will be released in the future but with the market being so saturated with 2-wheels scooters from a business standpoint it doesnÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t make sense to try and re-invent the wheel. Razor corners over 90% of the domestic scooter market and has for nearly 20 years. I know you would have liked for Nextsport to come up with a competitive 2-wheel scooter but obviously our line of product has 4. What about Dakota/GaryÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s new endeavor? They are backing a competitive 2-wheel scooter that IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m sure has many similarities to an SR built scooter.

Without seeing the costs of running SR, I can offer $150/year to you to advertise on front pages and create a Fuzion specific forum with full control over moderation in the section. Members would be entitled to member only discounts, product testing, etc. I think this is more than appropriate based on my experiences with a number of forums that IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢ve personally run or been a part of.

I donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t want there to be any hard feelings and IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m open to discussing whatever you see fit.

Let me know.

Thanks,
