You can't half ass it when getting a camera. You get what you pay for. If you aren't willing to put out a LOT of money for a good setup, a DSLR is not worth buying. They're all money pits.

the d3200 is coming out soon in the 600-700 price range.

You gotta remember that your not just buying the camera. You have to keep in mind that you will need lenses, sd or cf cards, possibly a mic, a handle, etc. It may seem like it will be cheap but in order to film better with a dslr you have to be willing to spend money on more than just the camera and a couple of lenses.

Yes.

Pretty much with anything it all becomes a money game:

hmm well if I spend a few dollars more I can get X camera

well if I spend a few dollars more than that I can get Y camera
so on and so on..

You just have to set a Budget and go from there
