nuts above headtube on the fork

how do you get the nuts that are above the headtube that are on the fork off?

I put a long rod in the holes where the wheels go so i had some leverage, then put a wrench on the nut and pushed both ways. Took a little work but I got it.

drip oil on the threads, made it easier for me

Oil in threads.
Put nut into vice so fork is sticking out towards you.
Take off wheel.
Put a screw driver into the axle hole and turn counter clockwise.
